Circe Academy is an online educational platform operated by Circe Academy, Haifa, Israel. We are committed to protecting your privacy and handling your data with transparency and respect.

2. Data We Collect

We collect the following personal data when you register or subscribe: your email address, used for account creation, authentication, and transactional communications. We do not collect your name, phone number, or physical address unless you voluntarily provide it through support correspondence.

3. How We Use Your Data

Your email address is used solely for account authentication, sending transactional emails such as welcome messages and billing notifications, and communicating important updates about the platform. We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes.

4. Payment Processing

All payment transactions are processed by Paddle, our primary payment partner, who acts as the Merchant of Record. We may engage additional compliant payment providers to ensure global accessibility and service continuity. We do not store credit card numbers, payment card data, or billing information on our servers. All financial data is handled exclusively by our payment partners under their respective privacy and security policies.

5. The Digital Grimoire — Your Private Sanctuary

All Grimoire entries, personal reflections, lesson notes, and key terms you record within Circe Academy are stored exclusively in your browser's local storage using the key circe_grimoire_v1. This data is never transmitted to our servers. We cannot read it, access it, or recover it. It is invisible to us and immune to any breach of our servers. You hold complete and sovereign control over your Grimoire data. We strongly recommend using the Download Archive feature regularly to back up your entries. If you clear your browser cache or switch devices without restoring from a backup, your Grimoire data will be lost and we cannot recover it.

6. Transactional Email

We use Resend to deliver transactional emails such as your welcome message and password-setup links. Resend processes your email address solely for delivery purposes in accordance with their privacy policy.

7. Newsletter and Marketing Email

If you opt in to our newsletter, your email address will be processed by MailerLite for the purpose of sending educational content and platform updates. You may unsubscribe at any time via the link included in every email.

8. Cookies

Circe Academy uses only essential cookies necessary for session management and authentication. We do not use advertising cookies, tracking cookies, or third-party analytics cookies. No cookie consent banner is required as we use only strictly necessary cookies.

9. Data Retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account remains active. If you request deletion of your account, we will remove your email address and account information from our database within 30 days. As noted above, we have no access to your Grimoire data and therefore cannot delete it on your behalf.

10. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, request correction of inaccurate data, request deletion of your account and associated data, and withdraw consent for marketing communications at any time.

11. Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures including encrypted HTTPS connections, HTTP-only authentication cookies, bcrypt password hashing, and regular security updates to protect your account data.

12. Children's Privacy

Circe Academy is intended for users aged 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal data from minors. If you believe a minor has registered, please contact us immediately.

13. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email. Continued use of the platform following notification constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
